No two weeks are ever the same for me, and that is part of what I love about making and designing jewellery. Yes, I am in my Herefordshire jewellery making workshop orders and jewellery commissions, however there is so much more too. Clients can visit the studio and often travel from far and wide to see me, which is alway enjoyable. So today I will be putting together quotes for commission work, photographing finished pieces before they are posted off to new homes, sourcing stones, updating the website and sending some pieces of contemporary jewelleryto the Birmingham Assay Office. Mixing in a cuddle or two with the office dog and a little bit of Pilates! Heres some snippets from yesterday...
This lovely ring commission has been resized and flying off to Germany today to a lovely lady whom I have had the pleasure of making several pieces. I would rather like to be hand delivering this one!
I often melt and cast clients gold. This image is after I have melted all the gold together and it is still hot. I love the colours and textures.
Early morning dog walks are always inspiration to me. Below shows one of the ways the inspiration comes through to metal.
This necklace arrived with it's new owner this week. I made it a fraction shorter after she tried it at The Contemporary Craft Festival. She is delighted, phew!
I am really falling for using emeralds in my contemporary rings. I have worked with 5 recently and I love them. They are also the birthstone for May, which suits me too! These are going to make a fabulous stacking ring set for a client.
This new unique sapphire and diamond ring was finished just before the Craft Festival. I have uploaded it to my website this week.
This time of year means everything in the countryside changes so quickly. Just yesterday I noticed how lots of these petals had fallen and lined a patch of my walk around the field.
Finally the pair of 18ct gold hook earrings below have been having lots of love on Instagram this week (over 10K views!). I really need to get the silver version online too... it's time I got back to bench!
